Implementing AI Applications in SAP

Milliarum is one of the first SAP consulting firms to bring AI-based tools to market: The „Milliarum AI Construction Kit“ was developed specifically for companies that want to enhance their SAP systems with AI-based features. With preconfigured delivery packages, AI-based UI5 chat applications can be created intuitively in SAP ABAP. This allows users to leverage the benefits of artificial intelligence in conjunction with SAP business applications and benefit from a user-friendly interface based on natural language.

The Milliarum AI Construction Kit enables users to create AI-powered user guidance using voice-based interaction. This allows even occasional users to navigate SAP effectively and automate processes. This saves time and optimizes processes, with the potential for resulting productivity gains. The tool provides a chat feature via an SAP UI5 user interface. It offers the ability to integrate a wide variety of AI models. It also supports local models, cloud models, and the SAP AI Core with the SAP Generative AI Hub. This allows users to create, operate, and extend their own chat applications within the SAP ABAP-based tool.

„The use of artificial intelligence in SAP solutions is nothing new in and of itself,“ said Managing Director Dirk Ott. „Unlike SAP’s existing and upcoming cloud-based chatbots, we at Milliarum focus on making these available for on-premises applications.“ The AI Construction Kit includes a generic AI chat for interacting with the AI, as well as a customization environment for configuring the applications individually and integrating various large language models (LLMs). The application uses UI5 and the Markdown format to display chat content in a user-friendly way. Through prompt engineering, the models can be further refined to create personas that are already optimized for specific use cases.
